(Barrigada, GUAM) – March 6, 2014 – Tropical Productions today announced that the kick off to the 2014 season of the MFL will take place on Friday, March 7, 2014 with the Shell Hal's Angels competing against a brand new team, the DLX Knights as games return to evening actions at the Hal Shiroma Football field in Dededo at 7:00PM. On Sunday, March 9, 2014, fans will be able to catch a repeat to last season's Championship Game, the Pepsi Warriors (the 2013 MFL Champions) challenging the Cars Plus Rams at 5:00 PM.
The region’s premier adult football league is returning for its fifth consecutive season for all families who enjoy the excitement and entertainment that American football brings to its local fans. “This is going to be a great season as all four teams have a full roster and are in contention to win every game!” said EJ Calvo, MFL League President. He went on to say, “The MFL has been Guam's premier adult football league for years, and the investment being made at Shiroma Field will benefit players and fans of the MFL as well as the youth football players year round." EJ Calvo, MFL President. Fans are encouraged to bring their beach chairs.
Food, Soda, and other concessions will be available with portions of the proceeds to benefit youth football. Entrance Fee is $2 for Adults, where 100% of proceeds will be be donated to the Edward M. Calvo Cancer Foundation (EMCCF), to help fund grants for cancer victims in Guam. Admissions from the MFL have funded almost 40 grants over the last four seasons through the EMCCF. Children (12 and under) do not pay an admission to enjoy the games.
